Fix 20mm spacers to PCB before mounting in the box (box will spring to allow assembly) C1 can be a fixed 22pF capacitor if you only use short delay timing (<7hrs) For accurate xtal syncronization, required for longer delay times - adjust all the TXs to align with a selected master TX (or a separate xtal standard) Listen to the hetrodyne and adjusting for 'zero-beat' ( I use a scanning receiver) If you align the timing xtal in this way the TXs will keep in sync. with each other - perfectly- over 24hrs or more. Check the xtals start ok after the adjustment. Too little or too much capacitance at C1, can cause unreliable xtal starting, it should be near equal to the capaciance of C2 (22pF) Timer XTAL, C1 is now a miniture 30pf variable cap. C2 may be lowered to 15p if required The most effective way to adjust a 5Tx set is to zero beat each timing xtal with a master TX. Run the Txs in wait mode (so the TXa are not actually transmitting!) Use fingers on the xtal case and the xtal signal is more easily audible on a cheap scanning receiver.
